I trained for a marathon once by adding 2-3 miles each week to my long run. I was 21 and ambitious and strong.

These days, I run three miles (at best) a few times a week. Some days I only hit two.

It’s not that the older I get the slower I am (at least, I don’t think). The older I get, the more my expectations of myself tend to match the speed-pace of God…
