Our avoidance shows up in all sorts of ways, many of them masking our most genuine intentions. Anything from “just one more glance” at my phone (to finish a task or respond to a friend in need), to “I’m locking-in to prayer” (“I will not stop praying until I see a shift”), can pose as noble, faith-filled.
