I love this! And will look for this in my days ahead. Not too long ago, after a fast, I was walking in my backyard and feeling a little like a child for not doing so well with the fast. When out of nowhere I pictured God kneeling with outstretched arms, smiling and revealed to me I am like a toddler with my fasting and it’s okay; maturity will come. It was definitely playful and reassuring as a parent would be.
Thank you for writing. Thank you for sharing your friendship with God with us. Though I have shared similar experiences, the way you put it in words stirs my soul, makes my heart smile and deepens my desire for more of God. I just wanted to say THANK YOU!
Woke up this morning thinking on the words "He meant to pass them by..." What a delightful picture of Jesus...playing with His creation...walking on the stormy sea (He didn't have to stroll across the water)...and laughter..."Be of good CHEER...He says to His frightened friends! Thank you, Sara, for the heart-touching insight! I too, am enjoying the quiet drives in the fall...and am keeping my eyes wide open for His wonder!!!
Mmmmm...just sitting and enjoying the moment! Thank you, sweet Sara, for the beautiful word pictures and for the reminder that the Lord ENJOYS us and desires to play! And for the butterfly reminder that He is EL ROI, the God Who SEES us!! (Heather and I treasure that memory of the retreat and the butterfly!!!)
"Sometimes our littlest ones, not yet tainted by the world's creep..." I have thought of this very thing often lately - how children possess such an innocence about them, completely oblivious to the turmoil we adults have swirling around in our brains more often than not. I know not all children have this luxury - for some their innocence was taken in a variety of ways, but for those that do, what a blessing it is!
Like you, I am enjoying a bit of silence in my days as well - so much noise everywhere.

AH! I forget the retreat and the butterfly ... what a sweet memory.
Love this so much. Made me pensive of the times God the Father took me of a journey getting to know Him as my Heavenly Father.
