We’re all tired, aren’t we? Long-tired.
And yet we’re entering into a season that promises rest and wonder (as long as we’ve made all of our Christmas purchases and paid the dues for the recital costumes and checked off the list of “memories we need to make” for our kids).
So, I’m sliding in here — appearing as if I’m adding to the exhaustion with one more email in your inbox, but I’m actually attempting to invite you out of it. If you haven’t yet read my piece on pacing ourselves instead of being paced, don’t skip it because you’re reading this email.
I did just want to add one note as an addendum to that piece.
I slipped away for a weekend and I wrote the advent devotional I needed for myself.
Though I didn’t name it this, it’s really for finding wonder during these long days that can feel so un-wonderful — in the real. It’s for breaking out of crisis-and-crunch-mode habits and slowing your pace to find Him in the dusty corners, amid the fallen needles under the tree.
It’s free and will last from now through Christmas. You can sign up here.
And should you want a book to accompany this series or need gift ideas for friends, I’ll be sharing my favorites gift list on SOAR — but I had to let you know that Church Source is offering the best price I’ve seen on ADORE yet: 4 hardcopies for $35 and free shipping.
With anticipation,
Sara
Thank you for that resource and link!! Adore is one of my all time favorites, and will make the perfect Christmas gift to share with others.
Oh, dear Sara ... thank you! Thank you!
And this is the best way to do Advent ...
"Step into my family room, grab a seat amid discarded socks by the fire, legos strewn in corners, and my coffee stained table. Let’s find Him in this middle mess."
Grace and peace ... x
