I would love to know how you feel like you can sit with hard feelings without getting stuck in them. Like your advent letter mentioned I tend to Avoid pain like the plague! I am quick to shout “I have not been given a spirit of fear” or “the joy of the Lord is my strength” rather than “sit” with fear or sadness.
The few times I have sat with those feelings I tend to get a bit stuck in them (or at least it feels like that to me). Doesn’t there come a point where we do need to let Gods word inform us rather than sit in the feelings? Is there a point where you do need to preach to yourself?!
Yes, yes and yes. I think many struggle to sit in them because they end up getting stuck in them. So it often feels best to declare God good and avoid them … until we can’t anymore 🥴. Two practices, oriented around scripture, that have really helped me are adoration and also lament. Both facilitate a sitting in the emotions that isn’t untethered from the Word. Are you familiar with either of these?
I’m increasingly grateful for your Spirit-led voice among the noise (It’s contagious). Thank you for encouraging our hearts towards THE ONE who extends His offer of life to the FULL each new day, each new moment without limit. ✨
P.S. Adore, for that price?!? Is this even real life? It’s my favorite gift to give!
So looking forward to the breath of fresh air that He has given you to share with all of us! Thank you for listening so well my friend!
Love you, friend!

I am a bit familiar but need to grow in my understanding/practicing of them!

Oh thank you Lindsey
Thank you, sweet Sara, for this gift to us all! ♥️
I did truly write this for myself -- so it was a mutual gift ;)
On the Day of the Last Wind, Lord
On the day of the Last Wind, Lord
Why the evening never came at all
It’s as if it possibly lost its way
Quite disturbing all in all
On the day of the Last Wind, Lord
The sky was consumed by fire
Tornadoes here and hurricanes there
Ungodly voices screeching louder and higher
Shattering earthquakes split Earth asunder
Bodies of the dead passing by
Entrapped in torrents of molten lava
Screaming, pleading for His mercy
The Lord God Almighty from his Heavenly Throne
Gazed upon the horror passing by
The Angel Choir sang a beautiful hymn
Then silence fell on all creation
I sent my beloved Son to Earth
He came to save you all. But you,
you mocked HIM, you slaughtered Him,
you crucified HIM, sinners are you all
On the day of the last wind, Lord
Jesus, He rose in mighty splendour
On that fatal day, we all were dead
And His sweet voice called us home.
