"We consider ourselves to be young and wild and free, yet perhaps we’re more bound to a particular expression of God’s miraculous way than we’re willing to admit." --- how quick I am to forget the prayer that never fails: "Not my will, but Yours". I've been reading quite a bit on prayer and how we engage God and what it means to have faith that isn't short-circuited by an obsession with a single outcome, but is buoyed by a more-than sufficient mustard-seed hope that God will do what is good and right. I've been shocked out how often I am just worrying in the general direction of heaven, rather than inviting God to show me Himself.
