Nate flew across the country this morning to meet up with his college roommates. They packed their favorite books to share and though forty-five-year-old bodies don’t work as they did twenty years ago, I imagine they’ll find their way into old wrestling matches and boyish athletic competitions, in between sharing stories and prayers. Back home, Charlotte rubbed the sleep out of her eyes and asked to be held most of the morning. I put her down to wash dishes or change the laundry and she followed me like a shadow, “hold me please, hold me please.”
Absolutely needed to read this on this exact morning. Thank you for sharing, Sara. And praise God for our Daddy who would love to snuggle and spend slow time with us... 😭🙏🏼
Thank you Sara - reading this w/ head cold as I finally succumbed to COVID - what was supposed to be a fun, birthday week for me w/ visiting family 🥳 turned into isolation trying to avoid getting sick prior to MRI yet latest test provided no answer & I still couldn’t outrun it in end. God does have a faithful plan and He remains sovereign even in this! 😘
Praying for you Becky. Hope you can give yourself space to rest while you have covid, as frustrating as it is. Praying that you will have answers soon and that you feel God with you in the waiting.
My, oh my, Sara ... this is extraordinary writing. And yes, yes, "desperation outruns discipline". I chastise myself when my discipline wavers and more often than not it's desperation that brings me back.
Such a beautiful connection between little Charlotte's grounding with her daddy and prayer.
This is such a wonderful piece of writing, Sara. I will save to read and re-read.
Bless you and thank you for sharing your heart with us. :)
“Because the desperate are the ones who get to see the face of God” Gosh, I am sitting with this truth.
On Friday, during spiritual direction, I talked to my director and during the conversation we saw the word “reassurance” was coming up in my life multiple times in different situations, always coming back to God’s goodness. That feeling of being tethered to Him is so reassuring and He wants us all that close.
Prayer is a wonderful way of receiving that closeness and reassurance ✨🕊
Oh that last line in bold made my eyes water. ❤️
gosh, I felt that same thing as I wrote it.

Yes, pausing to pray for a minute here, Becky.

thank you for this, Ian.
"Prayer is the continual assurance that we’re safe, even if the world around us isn’t."
Love that so much!
💕
Exactly what I needed to read this morning. Thank you for encouraging us to see that we are being held by God.
Thank you, Amber.
